Dental Bridges
Missing teeth can cause a host of other dental problems. In fact, if you don't replace a missing tooth, you're likely to lose 20% more teeth in the next 5 to 8 years. We can replace one or more missing teeth with dental bridges. A dental bridge will not only fill the gap left by a missing tooth, it will restore your bite, prevent you other teeth from shifting, and fill out your face, giving you a more youthful appearance.
A typical dental bridge has three parts: the replacement tooth (or teeth) and two crowns. In order to place a dental bridge, our doctors will fit the teeth surrounding the empty tooth socket with crowns. The replacement tooth fits between the crowns like a piece of a puzzle.
If your surrounding teeth aren't healthy enough to support a dental bridge, or if you'd like a more secure option, we may recommend an implant-supported bridge. An implant-supported bridge does not rely on surrounding teeth for support. Instead, titanium posts anchor the bridge, eliminating the need for tooth reduction or dental crowns.
Dr. Do or Dr. Choy will examine your teeth and soft tissues to determine which replacement tooth option is right for you.
