Gum Disease

We check every new and returning patient carefully for signs of periodontal (gum) disease: receding gums and bone loss. Many people mistakenly believe gum disease is not a serious problem.

The latest research tells us that not only are people with gum disease more prone to cavities; they are also more likely to lose the bone in their jaws and then their teeth. Scientists have also linked gum disease to potential heart problems.

If you have gum disease, we begin with a conservative, non-invasive and non-surgical approach to treating it. Antibiotics and other medications can also help control the disease.
